Spiritual snags will make it problematic for many Christian families. Parents who allow teens to read this book should be prepared to invest in it themselves. Written more for teens than tweens, Phoenix finds Harry increasingly sullen and angst-ridden as he faces trials of adolescence at Hogwarts. Less blatantly “spiritual” and more character-driven than the recent Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire, Phoenix is still dark from the outset, and families must still navigate all of the spells, sorcery and intense conflict inherent to the series.

Though more protracted and perhaps less charming than the earliest books, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is nevertheless well-written and engaging. At nearly 900 pages (and containing more words than the New Testament) Rowling’s latest endeavor remains true to her imaginative, unpredictable, Roald Dahlish style, but as Harry matures, so does the nature of the story. Rowling’s seven-book Harry Potter series.
ORDER OF THE PHOENIX MOVIE
TL DR I think Order of the Phoenix is really good movie and people are just a little bit blinded by what they left out from the book. This is the fifth installment in J.K. Sorry for the long rant but I really think people give this movie a hard time because of how much it leaves out, and ignore how well it does the things that it actually does. And the duel between Albus and Tom is insanely spectacular. The scene in which the order shows up to help and begin dueling the death eaters is awesome (And heartbreaking). The scene where the shelves that contain the prophecies all begin falling, causing an avalanche of spheres and blue smoke is amazing. The last thing I'd like to commend this film for is the visuals, Especially during the later scenes set in the ministry of magic. Can't really describe it but it is just great. Basically, I like how this movie uses Cedric to show how traumatized Harry is beginning to become.Īlso, The soundtrack in this film is awesome. They also address how Harry is not comfortable talking about him because of how much it hurts and, when The dark lord is making Harry relive his worst memories, Cedric is shown a lot. Though he's not mentioned much, they show that he is still very often thought of by those who were close to him.

When you think about it, from the outside, it would've just looked like Harry was being mean and rude to his friends, but by filming these shots that represent his thoughts, the audience is better able to sympathies with him and understand why he is treating his friends poorly for parts of the movie.Īnother thing I love about this movie is how they treat Cedric and, in turn, how the treat Harry's psychological state. Through this, they do an amazing job of helping the audience understand what Harry is going through. Even just at the train station, He sees the dark lord facing him and, the next thing he knows, he's on the train. There are lots of shots depicting what Harry is seeing or thinking about, showing what's on his mind.
ORDER OF THE PHOENIX SERIES
But, If you don't look at it as an interpretation of the book and instead think of it as the next movie in a series of films, this movie is amazing. Most people dislike it because of how much of the book is ignored.

I just watched Order of the Phoenix and decided to look at what people online thought of it.Īpparently it is not the most loved Harry Potter movie. It's been a year or two since I read the books and now I'm re watching the movies.
